Kia ora, girls,
Today - I want you to plan 6 photographs to take of your product.
To do this - you can use Paint. Draw six different frames so that each frame represents one photograph.
For your advertising - you should photograph your product in 6 different ways - a close up, from different angles or sides, with a model demonstrating how it's used. All the photos should be quite close up so they appear LARGE and more impressive in you magazine ad.
When using a model - photograph just the part of the person that is using your product - don't photograph them in full - or your product won't show up

Show me your 6 photo drafts before using the camera to photograph.

Tuesday 12th September
Hey teams. You've begun to create your TV commercials for your products. They must appeal to teenage girls from 13-18years old.
Today you will be given time to do the following tasks.
1. Complete a 10 frame Storyboard (sketched in detail so it's easy for all to follow). You may use less than 10 frames but not more!
2. Complete a full Script - what each actor is saying, exactly! On this sheet, you should also record any other sounds or music you are using.
3. Complete a Production Notes sheet. On this you need to write - who's involved, what their roles will be, how much time it will take, where it is set, what props, costumes, other equipment you'll need on the day of filming.
4. We are in the Media room tomorrow (Wednesday 14th September). Who will be ready to film their ad???????
5. Co-operative workers listen, participate actively, share the jobs fairly and equally, make an effort to involve everyone, get the job done!!! avoid going off track please - stick to the tasks and get them complete to the best of all your abilities. :-)

Wonderful job on your Websites - they are so attractive and effective!
It's time to move on though... so.... fill in your Evaluation sheets and keep in your folders for me to read. Think thoughtfully and consider your answers carefully to give the best developed answers.

Welcome to the end of week 7!
Only 3 weeks to go.
You've been working today on finishing your Web pages and they are looking fantastic.
The webpage is a chance to supply lots of details about your product that the audience might want to know.
Product Description could include: describe size, colour, shape and functions of your product - any other ranges or flavours etc of your product. Where and how they are created. What goes into making them. Where they are sold, how much they cost. Contact details and addresses. Any personnel information - that's profiles of yourselves. What else might a potential buyer want to know??

Working with Photoshop

Use the different tools and functions in Photoshop to create fun effects for your photographs. Spend time this lesson experimenting with the functions of Photoshop - don't save it unless you are going to use it!
Remember to keep saving all your work in your Student_Share folders.
I will be observing how well you i) use your initiative ii) keep focused on the task iii) work well in groups, cooperating and behaving respectfully.

Bon Giorno!
I wonder how you got on yesterday? You finalised the Magazine Ad ready for colour printing, then you began working on your Website template (also using Publisher).
To get started for today - it's important to reflect on what you learned yesterday.
Blog what you learned yesterday about Publishers templates and which template you chose and WHY! Explain your plans for the website in as much detail as possible so I get a clear picture of what you want to do.
How is your product coming along??? You have one more day to work on it!

Wow, it's week 6 already!!!!!!!
Ni Hao,
Remember - your homework is to get your product made - you've discussed and decided between you how to make your product and who will provide what. Hope it's going well!
I look forward to seeing them all on Wednesday - you will get to take a variety of photos of your product to use on your website. We will be using Photoshop and/or ImageReady to manipulate the photos.

Today - you are to choose another Publisher template. This time, a Website template to create your own website advertising your brand and product. Similarly to the Magazine ad - you will use your logo, slogan, pictures and descriptions. Websites have links to other material or products/sites /companies similar to yours, so think about what links you'd like.

Look at inserting pictures and text and the layout of the website you want. Try out the different functions of Publisher/websites and discuss the best options for your group.
Good luck.
Don't forget to keep saving all your work in Student_Share folders - don't delete anything you create - even if it's only drafts or sketches!

Kia ora, girls!
You've been working hard on your magazine advertisements - well done! Good to see you keep each other focused and on task. Before you leave the lesson you must write up a blog entry and explain the following things:
1. What are the elements in your ads and why have you chosen them?
2. How have you found using Publisher to create the ad? which functions worked well and which functions were difficult to use?
3. What have you learned about using any of the programs you've used to create this ad? eg. Paint, Word, Photoshop or Publisher.
4. Has the magazine ad been hard/ok/easy? have you learned nothing/a little/ quite a bit/ heaps.

Homework
Due Wednesday 23rd August
Create your product (or the packaging) so that you can take photographs and use it in your TV commercial. Decide between you, who will do what? think about the materials you'll need, paper, paints, boxes, plastic, glue, material, etc. Write a list of materials and a plan for creating the product by Friday 18th August.

Today we are working on your magazine advertisements. You are designing an ad for the Tearaway - it can be 1/2 page or full page - up to you.

You can sketch the draft in your books - use Paint as well, you can import images from the computer / clip art.

The final magazine ad is to be done on Publisher.
Use Publisher today to choose a template and learn all the functions you can.

Ata Marie,
Today, we are going to see presentations from groups and their products. Thanx to the groups who presented on Wednesday - especially Bailey, Lydia and Katie, Leonie, Kate and Tashi. Tino pai!

Once the presentations are over. You will need to start designing a print advertisement of your product for a magazine (The Tearaway).
Sketch some ideas together - discuss layout of images and words, dominant image, colours, contrast, logo and slogan placements and any other information you think the magazine advertisement should have.
Finally, use Paint to sketch the design before you do the good copy next week.

Kia ora, girls.
Yesterday you discussed which product you would choose to create. Now, it's time to put some thought into the design of your product.
Using survey results and your knowledge of the target audience, sketch a full design of your product on paper. What will it look like, colour, size, packaging, labels, logos, catch phrases you could possibly use?
Along with a sketch, you must complete a full explanation for all the choices you have made - especially of the logo, catch phrase, colour and other style features.
Full design (1 sketch and 1 final copy)+ notes will be due by the end of tomorrows lesson.

You may use MS Paint or plain paper or your books for the sketch

From there you will begin designing a magazine advertisement; then a web site advertisement; then a tv commercial.

Today, I'd like you to complete the PROFILE of your target audience. Use the information you gathered in your surveys to describe the typical consumer (13-18yr old girls from Waikato).

Next: check that you have 5 charts / diagrams or graphs showing the results of your survey.

All work should be saved into Student_Share in the folders which have been named for you.
Each document will have a title and your names typed at the top or bottom.

At the end of the lesson, discuss with your partners which PRODUCT you are going to make for the rest of this project.

Great work yesterday, girls. Many of you worked out the graphs, charts and diagrams. Have at least 5 of these showing the results of 5 of your questions. Go to Word - Insert - Picture - Chart and input your own data and customise your graphs. Remember titles.
ASK 3 B4 ME !!
Next steps: In pairs, write up a profile of your target audience. Title is Profile. Describe the typical responses, likes and dislikes of the people you surveyed. Write up to 150 words.

Hi Girls!
Today you have your survey results back - 5 each in your pairs.
Use the tally tables you created on Monday to fill in your results.
When all the results are in the tables - create a graph / diagram for each question using either word or excel.
The best graphs / diagrams or charts are - pie, bar or line. But you can use others if you find some suitable. Use as many different charts as you can.
Remember - ask 3 before me - and we'll help each other work it out.

Your homework tonight is to sketch 2 different product ideas for your advertising project. The products must appeal to your target audience - 13-18yr old girls at SHGC, Hamilton.
